David Crowder Band - How He Loves
He is jealous for me,
Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree,
Bending beneath the weight of his wind and mercy.
When all of a sudden,
I am unaware of these afflictions eclipsed by glory,
And I realize just how beautiful You are,
And how great Your affections are for me.
And oh, how He loves us so,
Oh how He loves us,
How He loves us all
He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
And we are His portion and He is our prize,
Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes,
If his grace is an ocean, we're all sinking.
And heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss,
And my heart turns violently inside of my chest,
I don't have time to maintain these regrets,
When I think about, the way.
He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
Yeah, He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves us,
Oh how He loves.
This song means so much to me right now. Mom said Wednesday night that she has sensed so many regrets in my heart about the kind of boy I was growing up. She gave me the most loving gaze and told me that "some boys just need more mothering than others" and ached that I felt so much regret. She commanded me to have no regrets. She is so sweet and kind and I feel so free.
God is so good to those he has adopted as His children. To imagine how I am no longer His enemy but His loved son is remarkable. It's so humbling to know that it has absolutely nothing to do with anything I have done or could do. It compels me to approach the throne of Grace to receive help and mercy in my Time of need. How do I approach the throne? Very humbled and pointing to the finished work of Jesus in his life, death, resurrection, appearance and ascension to the Father's right hand to keep me saved from God's judgment that was due to me.
