Next we visited San Antonio, where Elizabeth and Maria had their hair done in a traditional Mayan style, and then of course, had to buy the fabric and wraps from the woman who tied up their hair!

We're off to bed- the kids are already asleep and Aaron and I feel so tired. I think all the activity, emotion and intensity of the last week and a half caught up to us in full today. We're hoping getting to bed early will help a bit as we all wake up early with the sun here!
Tomorrow, we're off to Antigua after lunch and our last hotel- Palacio de Dona Beatriz. We're trying not to think about how our time here is coming to a close, as we want to thoroughly enjoy every moment. However, that reality is coming close and we're sad to be leaving this beautiful country soon.

Hey Bauers! Looks like a lovely day for a boat tour of the lake. The photos of the flowers at the beginning of this entry are just gorgeous! Actually, all your photos are good, are you the main photographer Heather? Elizabeth and Maria you both look so beautiful in your traditional Mayan headresses. Very cool. Will you remember how to do it so you can do it again here at home? Wish I'd been in that pottery shop with you Max so I could have bought a few more things. :) So you're off to Antigua today and the trip is coming to a close. You all have so many things to think about after your adventures of the past (almost) two weeks and many wonderful memories to treasure. Carry them with you always in a very special place in your hearts. We love you all and our prayers are with you.

ok i am tearing up thinking of you having to leave! as much as i miss you and i do a lot, i know the feeling you are having and in a way you have been so good with taking us along it is like we have to leave also! :) well, i think the trip to cabo works out great for you---it is good to do it after this trip and be able to look forward to that---it will be so different and a great distraction from guatemala let down. then when you are home the time will be farther away from being in guatemala. well ENJOY your days left there and just start looking forward!! tc
Your boat trip around lake Atatlin looked like so much fun. I love Elizabeth and Maria's head dresses...sooo cool. I also like the picture of Elizabeth and Kyler hugging. I'm glad you have had a great trip and built some special memories with the kids. They will remember this for ever and talk about it for a long time. I hope you have some kind of get together, after you decompress, to share all that you have discovered and more of your amazing pictures. Enjoy your time in Antigua and have a safe journey home.
Blessings,
Annette
